Teacher Standard Alignment |
|
|
This
artifact primarily addresses Standard 9: Reflective. I believe the goal of the evaluation process is to allow the teacher to reflect on his or her teaching skills, and use that reflection to improve upon those skills.
This
artifact secondarily addresses all of the other standards. The evaluation is split into categories that effectively address of the standards, from planning, to instruction and assessment, and involvement at a district and community level. |

Alignment |
|
|
I
believe this artifacts best aligns with KSD3c. Engages Students
in Learning. As the teacher reflects upon the construction criticism provided by the evaluator, I believe the final intended result is for the educator to be able to successfully engage students in learning.
This
alignment secondarily addresses the following KDS Standards:
1. KSD3a. Communicates Clearly and Accurately
2. KSD4a. Reflects on Teaching
3. KSD4e. Grows and Develops Professionally |

What
I learned about teaching/learning from this experience: |
|
|
I learn
that there are many parts to the evaluation process. The evaluation year began with the development of a list of goals I had to achieve for myself. I learned that I can effectively improve upon my teaching by creating a specific list to reflect upon throughout the year. Periodically reflecting on my progress with my principal assisted me in continually gauging my success toward achieving those goals.

What
I learned about myself as an educator as a result of
this experience/artifact: |
|
|
Sometimes I feel as though I am isolated from the rest of the building while I'm teaching, because my lab area is not in one of the team areas, but rather in an area distant from other academic areas. Without the detailed description provided by the evaluation process, it would be difficult to know what my principal thinks of my teaching. I learned that I am well respected, and that my principal has high regard for my teaching. |
