Teacher Standard Alignment |

This
artifact primarily addresses Standard 7: Planning. I have participated in the development of these short and long-term goals of instruction by level, and I use the guidelines in developing learning experiences that are appropriate to the curriculum goals.
This
artifact secondarily addresses Standard 1: Content; Standard
2: Development; and Standard 10: Collaboration. I have collaborated with my colleagues in making the sequence of classes from the middle school in Technology Education to the high school level. A new class was developed as a result, demonstrating the use of content in curriculum, development, and collaboration with my colleagues. |

REFLECTION |
What
I learned about teaching/learning from this experience: |
I learned more about the high school curriculum in this activity, and was able to identify the sequence of the classes taken at the high school level, whereas I hadn't had a reason to look so closely at the high school level Technology classes before. |
What
I learned about myself as an educator as a result of
this experience/artifact: |
I learned how my instructional goals fit into the whole scheme of our technology curriculum through this activity. I understand better what my students need to know in order to be prepared for the classes they have to choose from at the high school level. I also am more equipped to answer the questions of my Advisory students who inquire into the sequence of classes as they decide what classes to choose for their first year of high school in matching their intended goals at graduation. |
