Teacher Standard Alignment |
| This
artifact primarily addresses Standard Two: Development. My
master's degree is an indicator of having successfully demonstrated
understanding and proficiency in the level of development
with middle level students.
This
artifact secondarily addresses Standard 4: Strategies. Similar
to the supporting statement in the paragraph above, the fact
that I have met the minimum requirements necessary to obtain
a master's degree in middle level education demonstrates understanding
of the strategies necessary for fostering learning within
the educational environment with the age group with which
I teach. |

| PERSONAL
REFLECTION |
| What
I learned about teaching/learning from this experience: |
|
The most memorable
lessons I learned while taking classes toward my Master's
degree were those things that involved instructional strategies.
Most specifically, the sharing of activities between other
teachers and myself, and their input on what seems to be working
best for them have complemented my own style and methods of
motivating my students. |
|
|
|
| What
I learned about myself as an educator as a result of
this experience/artifact: |
|
I learned that I
really do love learning. I learned also that I don't tend to
the teacher well if there is too much talking and not enough
doing. I try to keep this in mind with my own teaching. Finally,
I learned that I am a perfectionist, as I found myself putting
much more energy into my projects than perhaps was necessary,
because I just had to get that 4.0. Now I question how much
it really matters, but at least I can say I did it. |
